Five members of a yoga instructor’s yoga chain have been feared dead after their plane crashed into the sea off the Costa Rican coast.
Gonzalo Guerrero, a 58-year-old father-of-three, along with three other members of his yoga chain – all students of teacher Roberto Arroyo – were killed on July 27 when their plane, a small Cessna 206, crashed into the ocean off the coast of the central beachside town of Chiriqui.
The victims were believed to be Arroyo’s students and their bodies were recovered by a lifeboat from a nearby ship.
On Friday, Guerrero’s wife and daughter were reported missing but are believed to be safe.
The crash site is near a flight school owned by Guerrero, run by his wife and daughter.

Earlier this month, Guerrero opened a yoga chain, Gold’s Gym, in the town which now hosts the largest Olympic training centre in Central America.
Guerrero, who was a regular yoga teacher at the gym, was also a former volunteer in the Costa Rican Red Cross in the area, local media say.
Local police, meanwhile, said Wednesday that they were investigating if the plane, an aircraft with registration number N837L, had been used in human trafficking.
